2017 MLR Rebates May Need ActionOctober 19, 2018
Each year, some employers with insured medical plans will receive rebates from carriers that did not meet the medical loss ratio (MLR) requirements for the prior calendar year. In the past month, carriers have been issuing MLR rebates for specific medical plans for the 2017 plan year.
If you receive an MLR rebate from your medical carrier, a portion of the rebate may need to be returned to your plan participants who contributed towards coverage. Please contact your Keller account team for assistance in determining the portion that must be shared with participants and the appropriate allocation method. You can also reference our MLR Rebates for Employers white paper for detailed information.
