As part of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015, which was signed into law by the President on Monday, November 2nd, the automatic enrollment provision of the Affordable Care Act has been repealed. This provision would have required employers with over 200 full-time employees to automatically enroll new full-time employees in the group medical plan and to automatically continue current employees’ medical plan enrollment at renewal. The enforcement of this requirement had been delayed while waiting for regulations to be issued.
