This information applies to EEO-1 filers, which includes employers with one hundred or more employees as well as certain contractors with more than fifty employees. Until now, applicable employers have only filed EEO-1 Component 1 data.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently reinstated the EEO-1 expanded data collection requirements and posted a notice on its website. EEO-1 filers will be required to submit Component 2 data for calendar years 2017 and 2018 by September 30, 2019. The requirement to collect Component 2 data was added in 2016, but the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued a stay to block its implementation in 2017. The reinstatement was due to the D.C. Circuit Court decision in Nat’l Women’s Law Ctr. v. Office of Mgmt. & Budget.
